My entire career as a dancer, Professor-Choreographer, has been the interest I have and see in teaching improvisation for oriental dance.
First of all, to fully understand this method, “improvisation is based above all on structure.
The Sandra Method has developed tools / not only these repertoires, these techniques, these body language – attitude but above all these 3 fundamental rules based on “MUSIC EDUCATION”.
“IMPROVISING IS AN ART” one could even consider improvisation as the highest degree of composition as reflection and execution are inseparably intertwined.
The dancer’s attitude towards the present moment is the key to understanding improvisation.
THESE IMPROVISATION WORKSHOPS in the presence of these musicians are tools for the training of dancers, develop and train their creativity, lead them to compose…
For my part, I consider improvisation through these rules as essential.
It offers dancers total freedom. They dance without restraint, without calculation and often indulge beyond their own consciousness, their thoughts traveling Sant stop between their body and their sensations…
As an oriental dance teacher, I try above all to transmit what seems to me to be the most accurate way to understand a reality, and in particular in our case “THE EAST DANCE” is an artistic reality.
Above all, the study should focus on the “rules of improvisation”, an attitude of listening, of being present at the moment, of being open to the possible and unexpected, rather than a gestural form, a staging or a composition process.
THE SANDRA METHOD on IMPROVISATION is a method of experimentation and structuring through these RULES… a daily practice, technical work, each artist will be able to research, develop, explore, organize, refine his dance, these emotions, his state of mind to put it into execution always and always in IMPROVISATION.
